White Springs in Constant Movement (5:42)

1989, Athens CMRC - KSYME

Sounds that were synthesized with C-Sound software and copied together with analog synthesized material to stereo tape recorders. The final mix was made with three non-synchronized Revox tape recorders. This was an attempt to simulate a simple physical system of weights and springs mathematically โ€œfedโ€ with a constant energy. Something like a never-ending spring movement producing sounds asymmetrically (or with a very complex symmetry). During mixing, some sounds from the Kurzweil 250RMX sampler were added. They are driven by sequences produced algorithmically and based on filtered randomness. This final mix was used in a sound installation for an art exhibition.
